Amko Plastics and Interstate Packaging Corp Announce Merger
New organization to be known as Amko Packaging Corp (Ampac); Headquarters to be established in Cincinnati
Cincinnati, Ohio-Amko Plastics, Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio, one of the nations leading manufacturers of image and performance plastic packaging and Interstate Packaging Corp. (IPC) of Walden, NY, one of the nations most prominent manufacturers of paper shopping bags, announce that they are joining forces.
The transaction, called a merger, becomes effective June 23, 2000. The combined companies, Amko Packaging Corp., will be marketed as 'Ampac'. John Baumann, President/CEO of Ampac, said that the new company "will be the preeminent provider of image and performance plastic and paper shopping bags to the retail marketplace. Ampac, owned by both the Fisher Investment Group of Cincinnati, as well as company management, will establish its corporate headquarters at 12025 Tricon Road in Cincinnati, Ohio 45246.
Ampac will maintain its existing operations in Cincinnati, Walden, Atlanta, and Lebanon, NH. It is anticipated that the merger will have no impact on current employment. Furthermore, the management, sales and marketing teams for Amko and IPC will remain engaged as part of the new organization.
