Ampac Acquires Assets of Massachusetts-Based Ocean Packaging
All operations to be relocated to Ampac's Cincinnati, Ohio headquarters.
Ocean Packaging, which has ceased operations, was a manufacturer, extruder, printer, and converter of garment bags on rolls, and bottom seal merchandise bags. The acquisition of Ocean Packaging's assets provides Ampac with the opportunity to enhance the company's existing line of plastic products and paper shopping bags marketed and sold to retailers.
"The manufacturing equipment obtained through the acquisition will further expand our operations and offer additional production efficiencies for our numerous plastic products," said Jim Baker, Ampac Vice President of National Accounts. "This means we have taken another major step towards our goal of becoming the preeminent provider of image and performance plastic and paper bags to the retail marketplace."
All operations of the former Ocean Packaging will be relocated to Ampac's Cincinnati, Ohio headquarters. All recently acquired equipment will be installed and fully operational during the first quarter of 2001.
