Cincinnati, OH - Ampac Flexibles, the flexible packaging division of Ampac Packaging LLC, is pleased to announce the launch of an exciting new line of recloseable pouches utilizing exclusive E-Z ZIP® technology. E-Z ZIP closures are designed to open easily and cleanly without having to tear off the top of the standup pouch, creating a neat, undamaged package for the consumer and maintaining an uncompromised branding platform for the brand owner.

E-Z ZIP features a unique pull-tab opening that allows the user to simply pull away a thin tear strip to access the recloseable zipper. The package zipper then can be pulled open to dispense product and pressed closed to reseal. A unique feature of E-Z ZIP is that the zipper closure is accessed without having to tear off or damage the header of the stand up pouch. For consumers, this creates a simple way to open packages without ragged tears, damaging the zipper or requiring scissors to cleanly open the top of a pouch. For brand owners, it allows for packaging design and branding that can utilize the entire front of the package without experiencing branding graphics loss that results from the consumer tearing off the top of the pouch.

With the competition in today’s retail market place, it is increasingly important for brand owners to utilize the entire package as a billboard to capture the interest of consumers and to take advantage of every opportunity to reinforce their brands and improve consumer brand recall. With a package that allows complete use of the graphics “landscape”, this branding goal can be achieved. E-Z ZIP pouches also help improve filling and production efficiencies. With an old-style zipper closure, there can be issues filling pouches if the zippers are not completely open. With E-Z ZIP, the zipper closure is completely on one side of the pouch, allowing product to fill through the unsealed pouch opening as if there were no zipper in place. This front placement of the zipper closure also eliminates the possibility that food or other material will be trapped in the zipper prior to sealing.
