Ampac Flexibles, a division of Ampac Packaging LLC, received a Silver Award in Technical Innovation at FPA’s 2008 Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards competition.
The award was given for the Wetbone™ “water-in-a-pouch” product for pets. The innovative 16-ounce dog bone-shaped resealable stand-up pouch features two compartments—a reservoir for enriched water at the bottom and a drinking bowl at the top. The design includes channels allowing water to fill the bowl and ensures unconsumed water returns to the reservoir. The package is also the final product, a multi-use water pouch plus drinking bowl. The pouch is a polyester/foil/linear low-density polyethylene lamination manufactured by Ampac Flexibles.
Since 1956, the FPA Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards competition has honored packaging and converting excellence across the flexible packaging industry. The Flexible Packaging Association has served as the voice of the flexible packaging industry since 1950, and its members are manufacturers of flexible packaging sold to users or distributors for packaging purposes.
