Ampac Flexibles is pleased to announce that their Tamaya Gourmet zippered, retort pouch with linear tear technology has won a Flexible Packaging Achievement Gold Award for Technical Innovation, and that Ampac’s new Vapur reusable water bottle achieved a Silver Award for Sustainability & Environmental Achievement. Ampac Flexibles partnered with Tamaya Gourmet in 2009 to provide a more sustainable alternative for the company’s gourmet fruits packaged in glass jars. The new pouches achieved all of Tamaya’s requirements and provided significant savings in shipping and storage weight while also minimizing product breakage. Ampac Flexibles also worked with Vapur, Inc. to produce a high-quality, durable Reusable Flexible Water Bottle using an FDA-approved, BPA-free film. The bottles are reusable and are a sustainable improvement over one-time use water bottles that would either be landfilled or recycled after each use.
