Ampac Receives IMS Certification for Dairy Market

October 23, 2014

Ampac, the world’s leader in creative packaging solutions, received the Interstate Milk Suppliers (IMS) certification.

The IMS certification received by Ampac’s manufacturing center of excellence in Hanover Park, IL opens additional opportunities for Ampac to service a growing flexible packaging segment – dairy products. IMS certification is a requirement to be part of the supply chain in the US dairy industry.

Dairy, including yogurt, is a growing food category as it provides many health benefits. Spouted stand up pouches, a strength among Ampac’s core capabilities, are a natural fit for this market segment. Becoming IMS certified allows Ampac to widen their pouch applications and innovation to now include dairy food products, providing packaging expertise and high quality products to the dairy industry.

As an IMS certified facility, Ampac’s Hanover Park Center of Excellence can now provide printed laminations and/or premade pouches (with or without spouts) to the dairy industry.

According to Millie Nuno, Ampac’s Senior Market Manager for Food, “Adding the IMS certification to Ampac’s vast expertise will allow us to grow a market segment that is currently in high demand. Our capabilities in premade pouches are an excellent fit for the dairy industry.”
